Yes, Mike. I did adjust the screw on the side of the carb. The bike seems to be ok at this setting but because of the missing baffles in the current stock muffler, no back pressure is causing a flat spot in the throttle unless the choke is out and the backfiring at deceleration is still very apparent (and annoying). The muffler I ordered from J C Whitney, just "seems" inadequate to replace the stock muffler. I am not at all concerned about the loudness (well maybe a little), but am really more concerned with the operation of the muffler. It isn't anywhere near as big (ok he warned me about that), there doesn't seem to be any insides (to muffle), I can practically see through it and will I get caught (during an inspection) with this piece of illegal equipment on my bike (no real big deal). Am I just being a namby pamby girl?
